What is an intensive session?

One of the unique aspects of Ashley's practice is the incorporation of non-traditional trauma treatment, such as longer intensive sessions. Traditional therapy sessions typically last around 50 minutes, but Ashley recognizes that trauma healing often requires more focused and extended periods of therapeutic work. By offering longer sessions, she creates a space where clients can delve deeper into their experiences, process emotions, and work through the complexities of trauma in a more concentrated and immersive manner.

These longer intensive sessions provide clients with the opportunity to engage in a more comprehensive exploration of their trauma, allowing for deeper insights, breakthroughs, and healing. This approach can be particularly beneficial for individuals who have experienced complex trauma or who prefer a more immersive therapeutic experience.

How do you help children with trauma?

Ashley has a special interest in helping children heal from trauma. Utilizing approaches such as sand tray, play, and art modalities can provide a therapeutic space for children and adolescents to feel heard, understood, and work through their trauma. These modalities offer alternative ways of expression, allowing children to communicate their thoughts, feelings, and experiences that may be difficult to express verbally. Through the creative process and the therapeutic relationship, children can begin to make meaning out of their trauma, develop resilience, and experience healing.

Do you take insurance?

At this time, Nurturing Roots Therapy does not take insurance. However, if you have out of network provider benefits, you may be able to send in claims for you to receive reimbursement. Insurance does not pay for intensive sessions.

Can I use my HSA to pay for services?

Most mental health services can be paid through with your HSA funds. Please check with your individual plan to make sure.
